SAE 100R18 hydraulic hose and SAE 100R17 are both common hydraulic hose standards, but they do have some differences.
Structurally, SAE 100R18 typically features a synthetic rubber inner tube, a multi-layer steel wire braid reinforcement layer, and an oil-resistant, wear-resistant synthetic rubber outer layer. SAE 100R17, on the other hand, also uses a synthetic rubber inner tube, but the reinforcement layer may be a wound steel wire structure, resulting in different pressure-resistance and characteristics.
In terms of performance, SAE 100R18 offers excellent flexibility and pulse resistance, maintaining stable operation under frequent pressure fluctuations, making it suitable for applications requiring high hose flexibility. SAE 100R17, on the other hand, excels at high pressure resistance and can withstand higher operating pressures, making it commonly used in high-pressure hydraulic systems.
In terms of application, SAE 100R18 hydraulic hose is primarily used in low- and medium-pressure hydraulic systems such as construction machinery and agricultural machinery, while SAE 100R17 is commonly found in high-pressure, high-flow hydraulic equipment in metallurgy and mining.
