How To Maintain A Jack Hose On A Daily Basis

The daily maintenance of jack hoses focuses on pre- and post-use inspections, regular cleaning, and proper storage. Following these three points can significantly extend their lifespan and prevent safety accidents caused by hose problems.
Before each use, inspect the hose's appearance. Check for cracks, bulges, wear marks, and loose or deformed joints. If any of these problems are found, do not continue using the hose. After use, clean the hose surface promptly, especially if it is contaminated with oil or dirt. Wipe it clean with a damp cloth to prevent impurities from adhering and accelerating material aging. Avoid using strong corrosive cleaning agents to prevent damage to the hose's outer sheath.
When storing, pay attention to the environment. Do not place it in direct sunlight, high temperatures, or humid conditions, as these will accelerate the aging, hardening, or mold growth of the hose's rubber material. Do not bend the hose into sharp angles or place heavy objects on it, as this can damage the internal structure and affect its pressure-bearing capacity. It is recommended to coil it into a ring with a diameter of at least 30 cm for storage, or hang it on a dedicated hook. In addition, even if not used frequently, it is recommended to perform a comprehensive inspection every 6 months, including pressing the hose to check for reduced elasticity and checking the joint seals for signs of aging. Remember that the jack hose is a pressure-bearing component; any minor damage can lead to breakage during use. Therefore, any problems must be addressed immediately with replacement; do not take chances.
